Cebu City Nightlife
Cebu City is a mixture of Filipino and Spanish cultures, with different types of landmarks, architecture and styles throughout the area. Nightlife in this area may not consist of endless clubs to visit, but the restaurants, bars, and nightlife will certainly keep you busy on your trip to Cebu City.
Bars and Restaurants
Treff Bar was recommended by one traveler as a great place for delicious drinks. There are Italian chairs in their lounge area, and service is both fast and friendly without barging in on conversation. Live music starts towards the end of the night for dancing or just general merriment. There’s also a rooftop bar at the Holiday Plaza Hotel, which opens early in the evening, and serves a variety of grilled foods while providing a panoramic view of the city. Get specialties like grilled squid, barbeque, and rice for reasonable prices.
Dinner, Drinks, or a Show
Lami-ah is a restaurant in the city where you can both eat and watch traditional folk dances. While the prices are somewhat more expensive, the food is delicious and the dancers are friendly. It’s a good chance for you to learn about the culture of the place without going to a museum. For a different kind of show, head to Club VUDU to see the DJs playing new, classic, and remixed hip-hop and R&B music. Just watch the floor as you dance because it’s both uneven and a little small. Or go people watch at FORMO, which is in Banilad Town Center. You can either do dinner or just drinks here, and you’ll see a good mix of both the young and old of the city. Dress to impress at FORMO because it attracts the trendy. Or head to Grill Avenue, which is much more casual and features excellent live music (but only mediocre food).
General Recommendations
Cebu City, fortunately, has a variety of great places to eat. Handuraw’s is recommended for pizza, or take a date to romantic Antone’s (which is located on Mactan Island). For an authentic Filipino experience, there’s Casa Verde for specialties like baby back ribs. Or try their famous pork dish, lechon, at CnT which is probably the most famous place to stop for it.
