Algonquin Provincial Park Things to Do
Canada is a fascinating destination for outdoor adventure seekers and is an easy international destination for U.S. travelers. As you embark on your trip there, here are a few local things you can do to enjoy your stay in Algonquin Provincial Park.
The Barron Canyon
Enjoying nature in all of its glory can be one of the most relaxing activities to do. The Barron Canyon is a short trail spanning just under a mile. However, the beautiful scenery that you will be able to see is absolutely sublime. Along this trail you will notice that some trees are marked with a blue dot so hikers don’t get lost.
It is highly recommended that if you decide to take kids with you that you do not let them roam around freely. Along this trail you will not see any fences closing of the edges. There are a few cliffs that could easily be fallen into and would not end in a great situation.
Algonquin Park
Algonquin has an amazing history and landscape that is enjoyed by many on a daily basis. The Algonquin Park is the most famous and oldest Provincial Park that exists in Ontario. The locals have protected the natural nature and surrounding area since 1893. This has allowed for millions of visitors to enjoy Algonquin Park free of charge and in all of its sublime glory.
If you enjoy taking photos of amazing landscape (especially during the winter with snow), feel free to do so at your discretion. Within this park you will be able to explore open campgrounds, museums, and a canoe trip access point. This will be a once in a lifetime experience you embark on and share with your loved ones.
Highlands Backpacking Trail

There are two different trails that you can embark on—one that is 12 miles long and the other is 22 miles long.
