Tourist Traps in Johor Bahru
Taxi Frauds
First and foremost, you need to know about the taxi frauds. There are several people who have complained about taxi drivers claiming their meters don’t won’t, therefore they ask for payment upfront, and it tends to be extremely high no matter the distance you are needing to travel. If you are traveling a short distance and can walk it, you may be better off than trying to get a taxi driver to take you as taxi fraud is quite common.
Zone Duty Free
This mall is three floors, but you will only find open shops on the bottom floor. Most of the time the food court is closed as well as many of the luxury shops. You might be tempted to visit this mall when traveling to Johor Bahru, but you should know it will likely be a waste of your time that you could enjoy doing something else. And although the prices here at the mall may seem appealing because they are duty free, when you leave and go back to Singapore, you will often be asked to pay the duty on the items you purchased, thus meaning you aren’t getting any kind of good deal.
