Hidden Brewery

The Rhorback Brewery is close to downtown, off of Railroad Street. It is in an old building, in which the wood on the ceiling has been sandblasted. The beer is excellent there, and they do offer tours to groups.

Cobbs Hill Park

If you are a fan of urban parks, this should be on your must-visit list. You can play basketball and softball there, as well as hike and run. There are some high vantage points that give you great views of the city. There also is a reservoir at the top of the park.

St. Stanislaus Festival

This Polish festival is held every single year, in August. You can get piwo (Polish beer) and great food, as well as dance to the live polka music. It often is held at the same time as the Park Ave Festival.

Aquaducts

There was a subway that ran underneath Rochester for a period of about 10-20 years, with its most popular period being in the 1960s. The Erie Canal also ran along this area. All of this has left behind amazing aquaducts that you will be interested in seeing. The World Canal Conference is held in part at this location.

Annual Soap Box Derby

During 2 days every June, a road just north of Durand Eastman Park is made into a raceway for this soap box derby. Different cars are chosen for bets, and the locals and tourists alike have great fun watching the race. Kids race their hand-built wooden cars, and are eligible to win cash scholarship prizes.
