Summit Monte Bre
Monte Bre claims to be one of the sunniest places in Switzerland. From its peak, you can see across the entire valley and the Alps beyond, giving you the chance to take some stunning photos to make your friends back home jealous of your adventures. The easiest way to get to the top is to ride the funicular, which is also quite a lot of fun in and of itself. You can also take a train or hike to the top if you prefer to stay on the ground.
Visit Piazza della Riforma
The Piazza della Riforma is the main town square of Lugano. It is the center of the city and is home to many shops and restaurants for you to enjoy. Depending on the time of year, there are also many festivals held in the area. Even when there is not a festival going on, it is always a bustling center of excitement, so you can do some great people-watching if you stop to hang out for a while.
Stroll through Parco Civico
Parco Civico is a large, beautiful park located on the shore of Lake Lugano. It is filled with stunning gardens and monuments, so be sure to take the time to wander around for a while to see them all. There are playgrounds for children, as well as plenty of benches and tables throughout where you can relax and enjoy the beautiful scenery. Most of the flowers in the park are of Mediterranean origin, offering a vivid palette of colors that is truly a sight to behold. The park can get quite crowded on sunny days, so mornings and evenings are usually your best bet if you hope to find a bench in the shade. You can see views of the lake from just about anywhere in the park.
See Lago di Lugano
You can see the lake from many areas of the city, but you should still make time to see it up close. It is from the lake’s edge that you can see the most spectacular views of the surrounding mountains. You can also go on boat tours, allowing you to take in the scenery from the water, without any risk of buildings being in the way.
Check Out the Swiss Miniatur
This is one of the most unique attractions in all of Switzerland, and you can easily spend an entire day here. Throughout the gardens, you’ll find miniature replicas of a wide range of Switzerland’s most famous buildings and structures, all in an idyllic setting filled with flowers and other greenery. It is an attraction that is great for adults and kids alike.
