Beautiful Vermont

We set out to discover Vermont last summer. We live in New England, but had never visited Vermont before. We first stayed in Stowe at the Green Mountain Inn in one of their Luxury rooms. It was beautiful and well appointed. There is no view, but the fireplace and spa tub make up for lack of view.

From Stowe, we went sightseeing to Mount Mansfield, Stowe Village and to Burlington. The mountain scenery was gorgeous. In Burlington we cruised on Lake Champlain for lunch – we would highly recommend this venture – the meal was great, the sights lovely and the price was very reasonable. This was a very relaxing afternoon.

After staying in Stowe for 2 nights and taking in all that the area has to offer – don’t miss Ben & Jerrys and the many glass blowing shops, we headed south down Route 100 which runs the entire length of Vermont. There are so many hidden jewels along the roadside – please stop and enjoy the many waterfalls and picturesque sites – they are marked along the way. The Vermont County Store is a trip into the past and you need some time to look in every nook and cranny.

We had reservations for one night at The Four Seasons Inn in West Dover. It is a charming country inn with lovely rooms and a fantastic breakfast. We had dinner in Wilmington at Anchors Seafood which was suggested to us by a local. This tiny little restaurant had the most delicious food and charming atmosphere. The owner will know your name, where you are from and your family history before you leave. It was a fun evening. The next day we headed south to Massachusetts and home. We loved this trip and want to go back to Vermont sometime very soon.
