Marriott’s New MegaBonus Offer: Up to 3,000 Points Per Stay

It’s that time of the year, when the major hotel chains announce their promotions for the first quarter of 2018.

Offer Details

Between January 16 and April 15, 2018, Marriott Rewards members can earn 2,000 bonus points for the second and subsequent stays at participating hotels, plus an extra 1,000 bonus points for stays that include a weekend night.

A maximum of 50,000 bonus points may be earned during the promotion period.

Registration is required, by March 31.

Deal or No Deal

Marriott Rewards points are worth around 0.7 cents each, so earning the full 3,000 points would be worth $21. If that bonus were earned for a single-night stay costing $125, it would amount to a 16.8 percent rebate. Not bad. Of course the rebate percentage declines for longer, more expensive stays.

The 2,000-point stay bonus alone, minus the weekend bonus, would be worth $14–a somewhat less enticing proposition. Either way, the bonus is only awarded after the second stay.
