Found along the Massachusetts coastline, the Island Creek Oyster farm in Duxbury is one of the U.S.’s largest oyster distributors. If you’ve enjoyed an oyster in New England in the past 10 years, it’s probably been from Island Creek, or from one of their farm partners. Known for their gritty and briny taste, Island Creeks have quickly become a New England staple and are now enjoyed in restaurants across the country (and even Canada and the Caribbean). I got to tour the farm in Duxbury and see how they grow this delicacy, so check it out!
Island Creek offers tours on their farm, which you can book here. Also be sure to check out their Boston restaurants, Island Creek Oyster Bar and Row 34.
