There is so much more to do in Malaysia than go to the beach. If you visit inland Bukit Fraser, here are some of the activities you should check out.

Khali Temple

While primarily an Islamic nation, many other religions call Malaysia home as well. The Hindu Khali Temple is such a temple and provides interesting insight into some of the historical religious aspects of the country. There isn’t much in way of signs for it, so you’ll just have to hope that as you’re walking you’ll stumble across it.

Nature Trails

There are eight different nature trails that spread out and around Fraser’s Hill. None of the trails are terribly difficult, but it is a good idea to bring water with you as some walks are on the longer side. Bring your camera as well, as you’ll likely see an excellent display of local vegetation and bird life. Bukit Fraser is a great spot for bird lovers, and the nature tours are a real opportunity.

Colonial Buildings

Malaysia is a former British colony. Bukit Fraser has many of the original colonial buildings around town, nearly all of them in excellent condition. It can be a bit unusual to see these kinds of constructions within the environment, but that is what makes it fun to just walk around town and check out the architecture.

Bird Interpretive Centre

If you’re into bird watching, this is a great destination. You’ll learn about migration and how to spot the local birds. This is a great primer before you go out, as it will help you know what to look for. It isn’t a big place, so it won’t take long to make your way through the facility. But it’s highly educational.

Fraser’s Hill Golf Course

Looking for a round of golf? Stop by Fraser’s Hill Golf Course. Now, the course is only nine holes, but this might be be better; you can get a shorter game in and go about your day. The greenery is lush, and there is also almost a constant fog, which gives an eerie feeling to the course. Just make sure to follow your balls carefully; otherwise, you may find it difficult to identify where your last stroke landed.

Wild Orchids

You can find an abundance of wild orchids here. While you shouldn’t pick them, you can take as many pictures of the flowers as you want.
