While this is a place where humans are welcome, it’s also a place above all where the emphasis is on the natural world. Some of the largest land mammals in the world can be found here. Keep in mind they rule this park not you.
Vehicles, Traffic, and Weather
Some of the most dangerous things in the park aren’t the animals. The most dangerous things are the people. You can drive in the park but you must stay inside your vehicle unless you are specifically at a rest area. Do not let anyone else tell you otherwise. When you are driving, be mindful of observing the speed limit and not causing problems for the animals or for other drivers. Keep in mind that the weather can change frequently. If you find yourself in a sudden, unexpected storm, drive more slowly and carefully as muddy creeks can quickly get filled with water. Motorbikes and other forms of transport are prohibited.
Dangerous Animals
The animals you’ll see here are wild animals. They’re not in cages like you will find at a zoo. Some animals may look docile but they are not. For example, you can expect to see lots of hippos relaxing. They may look adorable but they are one of the most dangerous of all land mammals. They are very territorial so give them enough space at all times. Another animal to be particularly cautious around are lions. Do not try to pet them.
Friendlier Animals
Some other animals in the park may seem friendlier, but you still need to keep your distance. If you are eating outside, you need to secure your items. Monkeys and baboons are known to comb the picnic areas look for food from humans. They may attempt to steal your lunch. Do not feed them. You need to bring all your garbage out of the park when you leave so make sure you pack carefully.
