Fuengirola Things To Do – Attractions & Must See

Fuengirola Things to Do

The towns of Spain offer a number of attractions and must see places, and Fuengirola won’t disappoint. Check out these things to do recommended by travelers to the area.

Fuengirola Street Markets, Churches and Squares

Part of the fun of Fuengirola is the chance to get acquainted the local customs, and of course to buy something to commemorate your trip. The Fuengirola street market is the biggest in Andalusia, where you can find practically anything you can think of. This place is as much a spot to shop as it is a place to gather. If you’re anywhere near the market, you’ll see people with shopping bags and know you’re close. Market days and times may vary depending on the time of year. Visit the Square of Plaza Constitucion, which is a great place to people watch as you drink a coffee or two. Nearby sits the Nuestra Señora del Rosario church holds services that you can attend to learn more about how the people here worship.

Castles and Bull Fights

Sohail Castle is imposing, and an interesting spot to visit. It’s an especially good destination if you’re up for a climb, and it only costs a few euro to enter the castle. It also has a great view of the ocean, and visitors can schedule a trip around seeing a nearby bull fight.

Sightseeing

Pueblo Lopez is the older part of town, and it’s a great place to spot architecture from when Fuengirola was first constructed, as well as a chance to get away from the crowds. This is a popular tourist destination, so sometimes it can be nice to see the less popular spots for a break from the hustle and bustle. Meet some locals in bars or cafes, and play cards in town. Bridge is an important game in Fuengirola: check out the International ACE Club where they play practically every night of the week.

Beaches and Promenades

The beaches in the area are a must-see, and the Fuengirola Zoo is popular as well. Walk Promenade Paseo Martimo to see the entire coastline of the town and learn more about Los Boliches, a fishing village from the 14th century that was once here.
