With over 300 sunny days each year, a beautiful downtown, and plenty of outdoor activities, it’s easy to find something for everyone in Grand Junction, Colorado.

Old Downtown

Grand Junction has done a great job of restoring and preserving the old downtown area. There are plenty of quaint shops, good restaurants, and numerous sculptures throughout.

Colorado National Monument

This “mini Grand Canyon” has a twenty-three-mile-rim-drive road that runs through the park and winds up the mountains to about 2,000 feet. Views are spectacular from anywhere along the route. There’s also 14 main trails in the park; some easier than others.

Glenwood Springs

Take the kids to Glenwood Springs. Along with the natural spring, they have an adventure park, a cave, and some thrill rides.

The Museum of the West

Museum exhibits include guns from the 1800’s, a uranium-mine tour a Pueblo dwelling, and various old west artifacts. Climb up to the Sterling Smith observation tower for an amazing view of town.

The Botanical Gardens and Riverwalk

This is a great place for flower lovers and nice place for a stroll. It’s located at the south end of town near old town center.

Powderhorn Ski Resort

This resort is family friendly, inexpensive, has plenty of snow, and no lift lines. Located forty-five minutes from Grand Junction on the Grand Mesa, it is a must see.

Farmer’s Market

If you’re visiting on a summer weekend, be sure to stop at the downtown farmer’s market. They have live entertainment along with the usual farmer’s market offerings.
