With a variety of clubs, pub, bars, and restaurants, the Oregon District is where Dayton goes to party.

Pubs and Bars

The Dublin Pub is a traditional Irish pub with great sight lines from the bar to the band, plenty of TVs, and a friendly staff. Stop in for an Irish dinner of bangers and mash, or fish and chips, and stay for the live music. Also for good live music and a diverse crowd, check out The Trolley Stop. The bathrooms are clean and well stocked, there’s a pool table upstairs, darts downstairs, and a patio for outdoor seating in the warmer weather.

For a college crowd, check out The Fieldhouse. Canal St. only holds about 200 people, but it has excellent acoustics and every Wednesday, “Jamband” features the best local bands. Elsa’s Sports Bar has a friendly staff and great wings.

Clubs

Jokers Comedy Club presents some great acts, has a friendly staff, and good service. 1470 West attracts a mixed crowd, The Have a Nice Day Café plays okay music, and Asylum plays hip/hop and rap music and draws mostly a laid-back crowd.

Venues

The Schuster Center for the Performing Arts replaced the Victoria Theater as the home of the Dayton Symphony, the Dayton Contemporary Dance Company, the Dayton Ballet, and the Dayton Opera, in 2003. Although replaced by the Schuster, the Victoria Theater still has plenty going on and hosts shows like “The Odd Couple”, and “Lord of the Dance”.
