Nanjing Road
Nanjing Road is the main Shopping and Commercial Center of Shanghai. It is divided into Nanjing Road East and West. The eastern end begins in the Huangpu District and extends from The Bund west to People’s Square. The Western end begins at People’s Square and continues westward towards the Jing’an District. Named after the Capital of nearby Jiangsu Province, Nanjing, Nanjing has been the center of Commercial Activity in Shanghai since 1845. The eastern section has an all-pedestrian area where you can take the famous Nanjing Trolleys to and from the east and west ends. Togetherm both sections have more than 600 department stores, restaurants, luxury botuiques and food stalls.
Most stores are open from 10 am to 10 pm everyday.
Xin Tiand Di
Nanjing Road may be the main shopping area of Shanghai but the Xin Tiand Di is the Main luxury Shopping Area of the largest City of China. This new shopping and dining center was made from a renovated stone gate and several restoredShanghai Hutongs. Built in 1997, It retains the antique walls, tiles and exterior of the Shikumen housing of old Shanghai. On the other hand, its interior embodies a totally different world with international galleries, bars and cafes, boutiques and theme restaurants. Xin Tian Di is divided into two parts – the South Block and the North Block. The South Block consists mainly of modern architecture with Shikumen architecture as an accent. The North Block retains more of the old Shikumen architecture style. The North Block Contains the more expensive restaurants and international luxury brands.
Most shops open from 9 am to 11 pm everyday.
