The Underground Lake

The Lost Sea is America’s largest underground lake inside a cave outside of Sweetwater, TN. The tour takes place on a Glass Bottom Boat.

Rock City

At the top of Lookout Mountain, you’ll find Rock City which is not only known for its sites, being able to look off the top and see seven states, but also for its gardens, its unique rock formations and nature.  See the albino deer, Lover’s Leap, the Fat Man Squeeze and more.

Visit a Civil War Site

Off the beaten path, you ask? How about Chickamauga National Battlefield?  There’s a good exhibit that shows the path of the Army’s march and the cannons they used to fight the Yankees.

See the Sequatchie Valley

If you love hiking, scenery or the majesty of nature, the Sequatchie Valley has all of that and is the hand-gliding capital of the southeast.  Even the view from highway 111 to get there is breathtaking. You can also rent canoes to paddle through some of the prettiest riverside country in Tennessee. The river offers ‘gentle thrills’ and is a wonderful way to see what Southeast TN is really like.
