Pulau Lang Tengah Transportation
It’s going to be a little more work to get to this ‘secret’ island, but your effort won’t be wasted. Find out more about why taxi, train or bus transportation may be a little tricky when it comes to Pulau Lang Tengah.
From the Aiport to Pulau Lang Tengah with Land Transfers
This island is known as the secret isle, and is appreciated for its natural beauty rather than its modern comforts. You can fly from Kuala Lumpur to Kuala Trengganu via Malaysia Airlines or Air Asia. The flight is easy, and should only take you about an hour. To get the most time on the island, you should be taking the first flight out in the morning. Once you’re at Trengganu, you can arrange a land transfer from the airport to the Merang jetty where you’ll be able to catch a ferry to head out to the island. This trip should take you about 45 minutes or so. It should be fairly simple to make the arrangements once you get to Merang, and you don’t need to make them in advance.
From the Aiport to Pulau Lang Tengah without Land Transfers
You may also be able to catch a bus from Kuala Terengganu to Merang. The bus station will not only have buses, but taxis if you don’t want to arrange a land transfer with a resort (which may be more expensive.) Buses take a while, and they’re not necessarily comfortable either. Taxis may take you some research and negotiating to find the best fare.
Taking the Boat to the Island
Once you’re at the Merang, you can catch the ferry to be taken to the island. The boat ride should take you about 30 minutes. Your resort should be able to give you all the specifics when it comes to getting the ferry back. Depending on the waters that day, you should definitely take some type of anti-nausea medication because it may be a bumpy ride. Once you’re on the island, you’ll be doing a lot of walking. It also doesn’t appear to be easy to charter a boat, so if you want to swim or snorkel, you’ll be doing it close to the island.
