The center of Alcudia still preserves the character of a historic town, with a medievel street layout, numerous ancient buildings, and an enclosing wall.

Old Town Market

Every Tuesday and Sunday morning there is a market in the old town section. It’s situated beside the city walls, but during the tourist season, it extends inside the walls onto some of the narrow streets. It opens around 9 am and goes until 2 pm or later. You’ll find two sections. In the main section, local farmers sell their products. In the second section vendors sell everything else – shoes, bags, handbags, football shirts, souvernirs and much more.

Porta de Moll – Xara Gate

Portal de Moll is one of two gates that are still standing. This one has an arched portal set between two large, square towers, with a small window above the arch. Two large palm trees frame the entrance. This gate is the symbol of Alcudia.

Alcudia San Juame Church

This church is by far the largest on town, where every other building is less than 15 meters high. This church is right to the left of the Xarxa gate, in front of the of the roman city ruins.

Roman City of Pollentia and the church of Santa An

During this walking tour you can visit the remains of the Roman city of Pollèntia, a city founded in the year 123 BC. There are three points of interest in this city: the Casa dels Dos Tresors, the Roman Theatre and the Archeological Museum of Pollèntia. If you have enough time, you can go on to I’Oratori de Santa Anna, a small 13th century church. This tour can be done on foot or by bike.
