Tang Kuan Hill

Tang Kuan Hill is located on a large hilltop on Songkhla. You’ll get a wonderful view of the entire city from the top. Visit the lighthouses while you are up on the hill.

Giant Sculptures on the Beach

Songkhla is surrounded by beaches. On Laem Samila beach lies the Golden Mermaid. The Golden Mermaid is a large sculpture created by Jitr Buabus in 1966. It is derived from an epic saga about a mermaid combing her hair on the beach at night.

On the north side of Laem Samila, The Sculpture of the Mouse and the Cat is situated. It is derived from a legendary story where a dog, cat, and mouse want to go home after being bought by a Chinese merchant. The animals begin fighting over a valuable object they stole from the merchant. This item prevents drowning, but greed takes over and the animals start fighting over the object. When it gets lost at sea, the cat and mouse drown. They become the Cat Island and the Mouse Island, which is represented by the grand sculpture on the beach.

Prime Minister Prem Tinsulanonda

The birthplace of Prem Tinsulanonda, the 16th Prime Minister of Thailand is located in Songkhla. The old wooden house is within walking distance of the Ancient City Wall. You can view this traditional Thai-style home during your vacation.

Songkhla Ancient City Wall

The remnants of the Ancient City Wall stands near the road in Songkhla. It was constructed in 1842 and is a well-preserved attraction to visit.
