Frequent and Convenient Transportation in Auckland

The buses leave every 10 minutes or so during regular business hours, generally from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. They’re hybrid buses, so you can feel good about your environmental impact. These buses save you from extra steps if you’re starting to feel a bit tired, and are conveniently located for tourists and locals alike who aren’t quite done shopping. You can take the city circuit free bus from the borders of the city and through Queen Street, including stops at the popular shopping area of Britomart.

Tips and Warnings

While this transportation used to be free, the city is now charging a small fee for the trip. While the cost shouldn’t be a major problem for you, but there may still be people who don’t know that they need to pay and therefore won’t have the change out and ready for the driver. You’ll need to carry small amounts of New Zealand currency on you to be able to take this bus. It should be easy for you to spot though. Bus stops are marked with a red City Link, and the buses themselves are also marked by red. If you’re just going a short distance, you may want to walk  as the fee will probably not make the trip worth it for you.
