Transportation

With their quiet engines, whisper boats are the unique transportation mode of Giethoorn. On weekends, rent a boat before noon or you may have to wait a while, or take guided boat tours instead. Summertime is busy, so make reservations for longer rentals.

What to Pack

Pack light! Bring a guidebook. If you’re spending a lot of time outdoors, take first aid supplies, hiking boots, and a raincoat. Pack a fleece-type jacket, shorts or pants with pockets, lip balm, sunblock, and, of course, a camera and SD cards.
