There is so much to see and do in Quebec and plenty of ways to help you get around. Quebec transportation is easy to find, whether using the rail, bus, car, and even your own two feet.

Train (Rail)

The Gare de Palais train station is a convenient way to travel between Quebec and Montreal cutting the trip down to 3 hours. There is only one route, but the train runs four times per day. This depot is a bus station for local and regional travel, as well. There are a few fast food restaurants and shops to pick up reading materials.

Funiculaire Vertical Cable Car

Quebec’s hilly landscape makes it hard to walk everywhere you want to go, especially if you are trying to make it from lower town to upper town. Funiculaire cable cars are the easiest way to keep your legs from getting too tired. Located at Louis Jolliet House on 16 Petit-Champlain Street, they travel to Place Royale and The Dufferin Terrace near the Chateau Frontenac. It provides spectacular views of the countryside.

Ferry

If cruising into Quebec is not your style, you can still enjoy the waters on a ferry ride across the St. Lawrence River. The Quebec City-Levis Ferry is a great alternative way to get in and out of the city from the south shore and offers great views of the ocean. The ferry holds passengers and cars.

Walking

When it’s time to explore the city, park your car and head out on foot. Walking is the best way to see Quebec City. The Citadel, Plains of Abraham, and the Grande Allee outside the city walls are all within walking distance.
