Northern Plains Botanical Gardens 

A great place to see the indigenous flora of the area is the Northern Plains Botanical Gardens. The Alphabet Garden is a great place to take your kids. There are a number of other gardens as well. It is a great place to take the family, thanks to the fact that admission is free.

Fargo Air Museum 

Aviation enthusiasts will want to take a look at the Fargo Air Museum. This museum has preserved some great historical aircraft. Most of the aircraft in the museum is from World War 2, and is open from Monday through Saturday in the summer and Tuesday through Sunday in the winter. There are plenty of interactive exhibits for kids and young children under the age of 4 get into the museum for free.

Go to the Red River Zoo

The northern plains are the home to many cold weather animals and the Red River Zoo is a place that is committed to preserving them. The hours are steady in the summer, but can vary in the winter depending on the kind of weather they are experiencing in the area. There are almost 90 species of cold climate animals that get to live on the over 30 acres of well-kept land.
