The town of Hershey is best known as the birthplace of Hershey’s chocolates. Although only a mid-sized town, there are a few things to do and attractions to see while visiting.

Hershey Chocolate Heritage

In the 1970s, it was possible to take a tour of the factory and watch the chocolate production, although for reasons of security, no photographs were allowed. Currently, the actual factory is not open to visitors, but there is a free simulation of the factory that operates at the theme park. Hershey Park is a theme park that features mascots representing different Hershey brand candies. There are nearly 40 rides inside that appeal to the whole family.

Something for Car Lovers

The Eastern Division AACA National Fall Meet takes place each year during the first full week in October. The Hershey region began hosting the show in 1955, and it is now one of the largest antique automobile shows and flea markets in the United States.

If you’re visiting when the show isn’t in town, you can still find classic cars in the area. The AACA Museum is about a mile up the road from the Hershey Entertainment Complex, where Hershey Park and Chocolate World are located. Visitors get the chance to see vintage cars, motorcycles, trucks, and buses. These exhibits are all set in period themed displays.
