Kampala Nightlife
Kampala is the captial of Uganda and borders Africa’s largest lake, Lake Victoria. Visitors will find more than a few places to eat, drink, and let loose while on vacation.
Restaurants, Bars, and Casinos
Just Kicking off of Cooper Road in Kisementi is a popular sports bar. Here, you can catch a football match and eat and drink with the locals. They serve pub food at affordable prices and have an extensive drink menu. Rock Garden, known for their tilapa, is a great spot to grab dinner. With outdoor seating and live music, its a great place to spend a few hours eating, drinking, and enjoying the company of your friends and family. Other bars you might want to check out include City Bar, Capital Pub, Miki’s Pub, and O’Leary’s, just to name a few. If you’re in the mood to gamble, take a trip to one of Kampala’s casinos. Simba is a nice one, but as always when gambling, use caution and keep an eye on how much money you’re spending. The Kabalagala Neighborhood, located in southeast Kampala, is home to several restaurants, bars, and nightclubs. Tourists looking for an active nightlife scene should consider staying in this area of town.
Discos, Clubs, and Live Music
The nightlife in Kampala is anything, but boring. The city is filled with discos, nightclubs, and live music venues. Black Angel is one of the more famous dance clubs in Kampala. Next door, the Silk Club also has a dance floor, but is more spacious. If you prefer a less crowded atmosphere, this is the club for you. Al’s Bar is another popular hangout. They play rock and pop music and serve drinks until the wee hours of the morning. For a laid-back night on the town, visitors can catch a movie at one of the many movie theatres, lounge at a cafe, or spend a few hours at the many beachfront hotel and resort bars.
