Clothing Tips for Various Seasons
Much of Halifax is on a hill, so you’ll want to pack durable shoes that you’re comfortable walking in for hours. In the summer, the temperature can change from 68 to 77 degrees Fahrenheit during the day to 50 to 57 degrees Fahrenheit in the evening. This means you’ll want to bring T-shirts and shorts for the warm weather, in addition to packing a long-sleeve shirt, jacket, or coat to combat the cold evening temperatures. In the fall and spring, the temperatures are about 10 degrees lower, so adjust accordingly. As you go inland, the temperature rises about 10 degrees, and the rivers, lakes, farms, and woodlands are enjoyably warm.

Supply Tips
If you’re planning on hiking, it’s a good idea to bring along a first aid kid, in case of an emergencies. Pictou County, which is close to Halifax, has many nice beaches. Bring comfortable beach towels, sunscreen, and a swimsuit if you plan to visit the beach.
Drug stores are abundant in Halifax, which means you’ll be able to easily find medicine, batteries for your camera, and any other miscellaneous items you need.
While it does rain with some regularity in Halifax, an umbrella won’t help you out, as it’s often so windy while it’s raining that you’ll have trouble keeping the umbrella in the correct position. A better option is to bring a raincoat or rain jacket to keep you cozy.
