Guangzhou Shopping
Known for the Zaha Hadid’s Guangzhou Opera House and the Guangdong Folk Arts Museum, Guangzhou also features many fascinating shops. From leather goods and stylish clothes to restaurants and street vendors, you will never feel bored when shopping in Guangzhou.
Guangzhou is the Gateway to Blissful Shopping
If you envision Heaven as an ethereal place filled with shops and cafes, then Guangzhou is your own personal paradise on earth. You can find just about anything in Guangzhou. For example, the Baiyun World Leatherware Trade Center offers every type of leather product.
At the Guangzhou Railway Station, find clothing, shoes, hats and different types of watches. If you are keen on the latest fashion trends, you will find stylish items here. Shop at Onelink International Plaza and the Grandview Mall for brand names like Prada, Sephora and Armani. You will need to pay for all items with cash.
Enjoy Eating Western Breakfast Cereal and Thanksgiving Turkey
Located in the Tianhe District, you will enjoy shopping at TaiKoo Hui where you can find clothing, electronics, food and brand name products. In addition, the TaiKoo Hui offers western food. If you are growing weary of Chinese cuisine, you can find cheese, bakery items, cereal and an assortment of canned goods.
For a few hundred Chinese Yuan, or about $15 in American money, you can buy enough groceries to feed a small army for several weeks or months. If you are visiting Guangzhou during Thanksgiving or Christmas, look for traditional holiday turkeys.
Do Not Miss Taojin Lu Street
Walk in the back of the Guangzhou World Trade Center complex and you will enter Taojin Lu Street. The street is the hub for a huge shopping area for clothing. Plus, you can walk on nearby side streets to find fashion shops with designer clothes. By the way, prices are quite affordable. Blue is the name of just one of these shops selling stylish clothing for women.
Find Everything You Want and Need at Tee Mall
Tee Mall is a large mall with prices set in stone. The store owners in this mall do not bargain with tourists. Nevertheless, you can find western brand name items including jewelry, clothes and items for babies. You may as well rest from all your shopping and enjoy a meal on the 5th floor restaurant.
Shop with the Guangzhou Locals
At Shang Xia Jiu Guang Chang located in the downtown area of Guangzhou, you can shop to your heart’s content with local residents. Locals shop here at night as well as during the day. Enjoy viewing the neon lights in the evenings. Look for excellent sale prices on clothing. You may just find a pair of jeans on sale for 50 Chinese Yuan, which is approximately $7 in American money. If you want to try different types of snacks, visit the food alley for dim sum.
