Medan Post Office
The Medan Post Office is located in Merdeka Park. This post office is a heritage building that was built when the Dutch colonized Indonesia. This was a time when the VOC played a vital role in colonialism and trade in Asia and Indonesia. The architecture of the Medan Post Office reflects traditional Dutch architecture. Great Mosque of Medan
The Great Mosque of Medan, which is shaped like an octagon, is located in downtown Medan. This mosque is commonly referred to as “Masjid Raya Al Mashun” and “Masjid Raya Medan.” This mosque was built in the beginning of the 20th century. The style of the architecture is rooted in both Spain and Middle East styles of architecture. However, the architect for this mosque was Dutch.
Coffee Shops
If you’re a huge fan of coffee, you should stop by one of the many coffee shops in Medan. You will be able to get a delicious cup of coffee from these coffee shops for less than a dollar. Many tourists claim that the coffee they have tried in Medan is better than any coffee they could get at Starbucks and other similar chain coffee shops in the United States. However, you should keep in mind that the coffee is incredibly strong, so you shouldn’t drink too much unless you’re used to drinking incredibly strong coffee.
Many of these coffee shops also sell fruit shakes if you’re not much of a coffee fanatic. These shops will use entirely natural products to make their fruit smoothies. For example, they won’t use any powdered or processed flavors. You will be able to see and taste whatever they put in the fruit shake.
