Like the rest of the Caribbean, Jamaica endures hurricane season from June through November; watch the weather carefully if you’re planning a trip to the island during this time (and don’t forget the trip insurance). High season for tourism to the country lasts from December to April. Avoid spring break, Christmas and Easter if you’re looking for deals and a less crowded experience on the island.

Jamaica on a Budget

There are many affordable all-inclusive resorts in Jamaica, as well as budget-friendly hotels and low-priced vacation rentals. Extremely cheap local meals are plentiful, but more touristy restaurants might charge a pretty penny for lunch or dinner. A trip to Jamaica during hurricane season is likely to yield some attractive bargains; you can save big on airfare and accommodations by planning a visit between June and November.
