We just arrived back home from Marbella Spain after doing a transatlantic cruise. We landed in Malaga Spain and the we rented a car From Malagacar.com rental booked online from Canada. This was the best car rental company we have ever rented a car from. They picked us up at the cruise termminal with our 2012 Renault Megane 6 speed standard diesel car.Helped us with directions to our resort and the car rental covered all scratches and body damage.That was a first. We stayed at a resort called Atalaya golf Resort. This place was beautiful but since we went in their off season it was pretty empty.I believe a two week stay in July or August is about $4000.oo including breakfast and dinner. The place to really stay or visit would be Estepona. This is the happening beach area in the surrounding areas.Be prepared to buy water everywhere you go. No resturants in Spain include water at the table like we are used to. If you are staying anywhere go to the grocery store and get your own wine and water. A bottle of wine costs 1,68Euro and water 84 cents. All resorts and resturants will charge you anywhere from 2 to 4 euros for a smll bottle of water. Ther is no night life in this part of Spain. Beaches towards Malaga from estepona are no existant. No sandy beaches and all rocky ocean bottoms. Trifa Spain and Estepona have beautiful white sand beaches. Lots of tourist type of things around the whole area. But all in all it is more geared to golfers. Eric Guelph Ontario Canada.
