Winter Wonderland in the Isle Royale Suite, is how I would best describe our visit to the Firelight Inn in Duluth, Minnesota. It may have been chilly outside but oh so cozy and warm inside. From the moment we were met at the front door by our most gracious hosts Jim and Joy we felt so welcomed. Then the grand tour of their Beautiful home, complete with a full privileged Butler Pantry at our disposal full of all kinds of delicious treats and beverages.
Then on to the rooms as we were the first guests to arrive and since it was our first visit we were privileged to view all the guests suites that are available. To say there all so romantic and charming would be an understatement. Such thought to detail, and from the moment we arrived in our room there was nothing to add to our comfort. Our suite lacked nothing from a huge Jacuzzi, quiet music, soft luxurious complimentary bathrobes, and complete with fireplace. We had a very delicious cheese, cracker and fruit platter brought to our room that evening.
Then the next day was quite full with a guest package to visit different points of interest and have a snack all at a very nice savings. That evening we had a very enjoyable couples massage package with a delicious wild rice soup turret and warm bread waiting back at our room-my only regret is I wish someone would have told me how relaxed the massage would make me and to my regret my husband had to eat alone as I was in La La land! I’ll know better next time.
But our visit was the most enjoyable and oh so relaxing that we just cannot wait for a return visit. And I cannot forget the most enjoyable gourmet breakfast baskets that were deliver to your room whenever you requested. Scrumptious and I do mean very tasteful. This was truly a wonderful visit and during such a beautiful time of the year and the house was so tastefully decorated. You are truly made to feel a part of their family and they pamper you so. I am very blessed that my husband likes to relax and stop and smell the roses as much as I do. As one of the most gorgeous and romantic Bed and Breakfasts that I have ever had the privilege to visit I now know why they are in the Select Registry’s list of the top 400 most discriminating B&B’s in the country. Truly an experience I shall never forget.
