The most popular times to visit are during spring and fall, though events and holidays draw crowds throughout the year. In spring, wildflowers and spring events attract visitors, while fall is popular for its cooler temperatures and variety of festivals. August is less popular due to the heat, and the first six weeks of the year also see a drop in visitation.

The weekend around Valentine's Day, spring break weeks, the day after Thanksgiving, and the week between Christmas and New Year's are also particularly busy.
