Gettysburg

About

Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, is known the world over as the site of the Civil War's bloodiest battle and of President Lincoln's poignant address to the nation. Today's visitors can revisit Gettysburg National Military Park, including the battlefield and Soldiers' National Cemetery. General Lee's Civil War headquarters is also open to the public, providing insight into the Confederate leader's military strategy. Other things to do in Gettysburg include visiting the Eisenhower National Historic Site, the former home of the president, and exploring the National Shrine of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton, the first United States-born saint. Gettysburg is served by Baltimore/Washington International Airport, less than two hours away, as well as Harrisburg International Airport, less than one hour away.
