The rainy season (June through October) is less busy in general, but the rain only lasts for two to three hours and the rest of the day remains hot and sunny.

Weather Information

Thailand has a tropical climate with three diverse seasons. The hot and dry season runs from March through May, with an average high of 93 degrees and 76 percent humidity. The rainy season from June to October sees average highs of 90 degrees with 81 percent humidity, as well as plenty of sunshine. The cool season from November through January experiences a drop in humidity and temperatures, with an average high of 89 degrees and an average of 75 percent humidity.

Crowd Information

Many annual events attract large crowds to Thailand throughout the year. From April 10 to 15, the SongKran festival (the Thai New Year) takes place. The Loy Krathong festival, celebrated all over the country usually during November, is a popular event at which people float special banana-leaf cups called krathongs down rivers to thank the water goddess and ask for good fortune.
