A pre-flight beer is a popular way to pass the time at the airport, but any flyer knows that even one drink at airport bar prices can put a serious dent in your vacation budget. However, at some airports, you might be pleasantly surprised at how affordable a drink is. The amount you can expect to shell out for a pint varies widely depending on where you’re flying out of, as one new study shows.
Finance site Finance Buzz collected prices from drink menus from the 50 busiest airports in the United States, and compared drink prices for “macrobrews” (Budweiser and Bud Light, or Coors or Miller depending on what was available.) Prices used were for the cost of a regular-sized draft, or a bottle or can if drafts were not available. The study analyzed prices from a minimum of three restaurants or bars per airport to find the average beer cost in each airport.
