Boston’s getting a new hotel, and we got an advance look at it. The Revere, located on Stuart Street near Boston Common, is taking over from what was formerly a Radisson. Once the $27 million makeover is complete, you definitely won’t be able to see any traces of the budget chain look. The independent hotel is going to be a mix of leisure, business, and fun, with plentiful conference space, more than 300 guest rooms, and some bars and dining for locals and guests.
Space is at a premium in downtown Boston, but you wouldn’t know it looking at the guestrooms in the Revere. Standard guest rooms have about 300 square feet of space, and they all come with a private balcony. Plus, each room is decorated with individual touches, like unique prints and quirky shower curtains. Of course, space comes with a price—rooms are going to range from $229-$600 per night, depending on the time of year.
Expect to see lots of events at the Revere in the future, as the property has 35,000 square feet of conference space, including a theater. Or, just stop by on your own for a drink at one of the Revere’s bars or restaurants, one of which will have a patio—Bostonians love their outdoor drinking spots once the weather is nice! (Along that note, there’s also a massive roof-deck, but alas, that’s for guests only.) The Emerald Lounge, named after Boston’s “Emerald Necklace” of parks, is designed to be a very sexy craft cocktail and tapas-type bar, with room for dancing and even a “secret” back bar.
Tempted to book a room? The hotel’s website isn’t taking reservations yet, but you can book by calling the hotel at 617-482-1800. It’s currently operating as the Radisson during renovation, but aims to fully open as the Revere in mid-April.
Will the Revere rival Boston’s other luxury hotels? We’ll find out this summer, but in the meantime, with splashy publicity events planned for the property (including a “vertical” fashion show that will see models dropping down the side of the hotel), expect to see some buzz around the Revere.
