If you’re not already a member of Marriott’s Rewards program, this would be a good time to sign up, especially if you plan to make two hotel stays in the next month-and-a-half.
New members who register for the “Free Night” promotion and complete two paid stays at Marriott, JW Marriott, Renaissance, Courtyard, Fairfield Inn, SpringHill Suites, Residence Inn, or TownePlace Suites by November 15 will receive a certificate for a free stay at a Category 1 through 4 hotel. The free night must be taken within six months.
According to a Marriott customer service agent, the new-member promotion is combinable with Marriott’s MegaBonus offer: 2,500 points for the second and subsequent stays charged to a Visa card.
So, after two stays, new members can earn both a free night and 2,500 bonus points.
Deal or No Deal
For anyone not already a member of Marriott Rewards, this promotion presents a rare opportunity to sign up for a well-regarded program covering more than 3,000 hotels at every price point, and earn both a free night and extra points.
On the other hand, non-members with no imminent travel plans might want to hold off on joining up—at least until Marriott’s next enrollment bonus.
