Starwood Makes Good Bonus Offer Even Better

In an unusual move, Starwood has enhanced that offer mid-promotion, underscoring the increasing desperation of the hotel chains to keep consumers traveling and spending.

To recap, the original offer was 500 bonus points per night, plus an extra 5,000 bonus points after the tenth night, for stays completed through April 30. Participants were required to register by March 31.

The registration deadline is the first change—it has been extended, until April 15.

More significantly, over and above the bonus points originally offered, there are now an additional 500 points per night to be earned at 250 Starwood hotels. That ups the per-night incentive to 1,000 points at the participating properties.

Naturally, the hotels offering those extra points are properties with especially low occupancy rates. But that doesn’t mean they’re undesirable. Among the participating hotels are the Phoenician in Phoenix, the St. Regis in San Francisco, 10 hotels in Hawaii, and many W Hotels.

This was a solid offer from the beginning. With the enhancements, it’s even better.
