Fans of the Paul Gauguin will be happy to hear that [% 9668 | | Regent Seven Seas %] plans to operate the vessel through January 2010. The cruise line just announced a year extension of its contract to operate the ship.
Unlike Regent’s other ships, the Paul Gauguin is not owned by Regent. In fact, in 2004, the cruise line announced the ship would leave the Regent fleet in 2006 because new owners had other plans for the ship. However, the owners had a change of heart and Regent has continued to operate the Paul Gauguin on year-round luxury Tahiti sailings.
The popular ship is approaching its 10th birthday, having launched in late 1997. The ship has sailed the waters of French Polynesia its entire career.
