Remember when lift tickets weren’t so jaw-droppingly expensive? If you long for those days like I do, you might want to check out Liftopia, a website that promises discounted lift tickets online.
The site is no time machine—ticket prices are still unfortunately high—but I compared the site’s prices against the regular rates directly through resorts, and they really are lower.
The major downside is that, at least in the region I checked (Tahoe, because I’m familiar with it), there weren’t very many ski resorts to choose from. But it’s certainly worth a look, and buying tickets online means skipping the long, cold lines at the resort. And maybe as it grows, Liftopia will add more resorts to its offerings (I’m rooting for Homewood!).
