I haven’t looked through one, but the description of the taxi guides available for the Chinese cities of Beijing, Shanghai, and Hong Kong make the pocket-sized guides sound pretty useful. Each book contains translations for useful city addresses, arrow stickers to indicate directions, helpful phrases, tunnel and bridge toll information, maps, and a pronunciation guide and list of phrases. I would imagine this sort of thing would be a handy tool for navigating both the city and the language barrier.
The guides cost $7.70 and are available online. If you get one and use it, I’d love to hear back about your experience.
