Winter holiday cruises are very popular. The kids have a break from school and families get together to have a good time. But, a cruise ship isn’t like home, with its holiday traditions or even snow, for that matter. So how do cruise lines create a festive atmosphere and a home-away-from-home for their guests?
Luckily, Royal Caribbean has told us how. A recent press release said that “Royal Caribbean International is gearing up to transform its fleet into floating ‘Winter Wonderlands,’ ensuring that sun-seekers will not have to leave tradition behind.” Onboard children’s activities include cookie decorating, eggnog parties, holiday talent shows, caroling, gift giving, ice skating, and pictures with Santa.
Adults and children can watch favorite holiday movies on their in-room TVs or view the menorah on the main deck. Religious events include menorah lighting and a Christmas Midnight Mass.
The festivities continue into New Year’s with a late-night New Year’s Eve party. Live entertainment, party favors, champagne, and a Captain’s countdown to the new year are all part of the onboard fun.
If you’d like to celebrate the holidays in a warm destination this year, you still have time to book a sailing on Royal Caribbean or another cruise line. To book, contact a travel agent or your preferred cruise line.
