MSC Cruises is offering up to 60 percent off the price of balcony suites on the MSC Lirica. Prices start at $1,195 per person on select 2006 and 2007 Caribbean cruises. To take advantage of the discount, you must book by October 30.

The $1,195 price is available on 11-night Caribbean itineraries departing on November 15, 2006, and January 20, February 11, March 5 and 27, and April 18, 2007. It’s also available on 11-night Panama Canal cruises departing on November 26 and December 18, 2006, and January 9 and 31, February 22, March 16, and April 7, 2007. When you do the math, you’ll realize that the discounted fare breaks down to $109 per night, an excellent price for a balcony cabin.

What’s so great about a balcony suite? For starters, it’s a stateroom that doesn’t feel claustrophobic. You’ll find a larger common area, a king-size bed and pullout sofa, and a bathroom with a tub. The balcony offers light and fresh air, as well as a private place to sit and watch the waves go by.
