Wind River Canyon

The flat-topped volcanic formation is our country's first official National Monument and (in our opinion) also the best. It's surrounded by amazing scenery, leaving you plenty to do after you behold its otherworldly presence. Devils Tower is located in the northeast region of Wyoming, so road trippers from the east can't miss it. But honestly, it's worth the drive even if it's out of the way.

Cheyenne

This year, Wyoming's famous Cheyenne Frontier Days will be held from Friday, July 19, through Sunday, July 28. Old Faithful

An icon of the American West, Old Faithful lies on the western side of the state in Yellowstone National Park. Old Faithful is undoubtedly the world's most recognizable geyser and was aptly named by an 1870 expedition for its remarkable consistency. It erupts about every 92 minutes and reaches a height of 130 feet. Between eruptions, we suggest stopping by the National Historic Landmark Old Faithful Inn. Constructed by architect Robert C. Reamer in 1904, the inn's design is based on natural features. The perfectly constructed combination of timber, stone, and towering ceiling in the lobby is a grandiose experience worth seeing. Yellowstone National Park

Yellowstone National Park is home to some of the best wildlife viewing in the country. Grand Prismatic Spring

The Grand Prismatic Spring is the largest hot spring in the state, and the third largest in the world, but what makes the spring such an incredible attraction are the stunning colors caused by different species of pigmented bacteria, photosynthesis, and refracted light. Visitors can get up close to the spring for epic photo shoots that are sure to make your Facebook friends jealous. Just don't jump in—the water is a scalding 160 degrees. The Flaming Gorge

Located in southwest Wyoming, the beautiful Flaming Gorge region is the perfect way to cap off the Great American Road Trip.
