Transportation in Kuala Lampur: Airport Buses

As with many major metropolitan areas, when you arrive in Kuala Lampur, Malaysia by air, you are probably wondering how to get downtown to your hotel.  If you thought about taking a taxi, think again. There are a bunch of shuttle services that provide a less expensive alternative from either the low-cost terminal (LCCT) or the international arrivals (KLIA). With buses leaving every thirty minutes, except late at night, you won’t wait long for a door-to-door ride.

SkyBus

One of the largest shuttle services, SkyBus offers transfers from KLIA2, LCCT, and KL Sentral to all the large hotels situated 70 kilometers away in downtown Kuala Lampur. Pick up a ticket for just 10 ringit, load your bags underneath and enjoy the ride. Be aware that commute times can run between 40 minutes to over an hour, depending on the time of day. The service runs from 3AM to Midnight.

JetBus

The JetBus provides transfers between terminals at the airport.  With such a sprawling airport, walking between your connections is nearly impossible. The transfer will cost you a small amount for the ticket, but it’s well worth saving your feet. Ask the driver for tips for connections to hotels, restaurants and other popular sightseeing destinations.

StarShuttle

This last company provides rides to destinations that the others do not. For just 15 ringit, they can divert to Bukit Bintang. You need to inquire at the ticket counter of each shuttle service to where they actually provide transportation.  Most of the buses are modern, air conditioned, and comfortable. Your final transfer to the city will be smooth sailing once you get on board.
