If you’re drawing up plans to make a visit to Alanya, you’ll need to know how to get around! Here’s what other travels have expressed about Alayna transportation – taxi, train, bus, airport trips, and even car rentals.

Rentals

You can rent a vehicle from ALP – they have advertisements at some hotels. At the time it was €40 per day for a 4 door Fiat Albea with air conditioning. It’ll be an extra €10 for fully comprehensive insurance. Fuel is extra and the car may be delivered empty, so putting some gas in may be your first task. They will bring the car to the hotel, so it should all be pretty painless.

Airport Trips

The nearest big airport is Antalya, 110km to the west. Tour companies often transport you from the airport but there are independent options available as well. The trip takes about 2 hours. The airport is big, bright, cool and well organized. On the downside, prices at all the catering outlets (run by the same company, so no competition) are 4 times what you’ll pay downtown. Total rip off on that account.

Bus

The public bus service stops outside some hotels every 10 minutes, and are air conditioned modern vehicles. The cost is 2ytl or 1€ each way. You’ll pay the driver directly, so change or small notes is good to have on hand, and no tickets are issued.  A computer display will tell you where the bus is, and where the upcoming stops are. Stops are announced as well. You just have to know which one you’re heading for.

Tip: In Turkey men are expected to give up their seats for women. Young people are expected to give their seats for old people and mothers with children. Old fashioned, but nice.
