Andorra Shopping
Many visitors flock to Andorra, a tiny principality locate between France and Spain, to shop because it’s tax free.
Malls
The capital, Andorra la Vella, is home to many boutiques and jewelers. In addition to the many shopping centers in the city, people also head to Meritxell Avenue to shop. Many Europeans head to Andorra to purchase alcohol and tobacco for a bargain, but keep in mind the limits to cross the border back to Spain or France, because you can be fined if you exceed the limits.
Cheese
La Casa Del Fromatge is a large shop that specializes in cheese! They have many large tubs which feature Spanish cheeses (tellingly in Catalan). Other tubs have Dutch, French, and Italian cheeses as well as a miscellaneous section. You can buy local Andorran cheeses, most of which seem to be made from goat’s milk (think “capra” if you’re having language issues and you very well might) because of the mountains. The Andorran cheeses are quite smooth, very flavorful, and a real treat. Some of the local Andorran cheeses make great gifts!
