Avoid Areas Covered in Snow

Winters are a difficult time of year to get around in Minneapolis, especially when snow makes the road conditions dangerous. Snow continually falls, melts, and refreeze again, creating dangerous potholes. If you are not comfortable driving in the snow and rain, stay off of the highways in Minneapolis during the winter months. The roads get slippery, and vehicles are often struck on the freeway, causing traffic delays.

High Crime Neighborhoods 

The areas with the highest crime rates are Midtown Minneapolis and The Phillips neighborhood, which is located south of the downtown area between Lake Street and Hiawatha Avenue. However, the highest area of violent crimes is committed in the northern part of Minneapolis, just west of the Mississippi River.
