It’s time to retire the flimsy SOLO cup at the beach and replace it with one of these plastic, stylish glasses. I tested two of The Beach Glass styles out on a recent trip to Maine’s coast, and have to say I was very pleased with them. Not only did I use them at the beach, but they also worked well playing yard games since you can stick the glass’ steam into grass, too.
Beach Glass Review
Price and Where to Buy the Beach Glass: The Beach Glass is available on their website starting at $10.50 and sold individually or in a variety of sized packs. Select colors are also available on Amazon.
How the Beach Glass Rates:
- Usefulness: 8/10 While drink spillage at the beach certainly isn’t the worst problem you could have, these glasses are great if you have a beach house or are renting one for a vacation. They are easy to stick into the ground or sand, and fun to use. (Come wintertime, they could also be used in the snow for some apres-ski.) Since they are plastic, they float and the material makes them safe to use around kids and pets. There were times where I wished I could set the glass down on a flat surface (in particular when I was at the pool) so I would consider investing in the serving/storage tray (pictured), which gives you the option of standing the glass upright and doubles for storage.
- Value: 7/10 The Beach Glass costs about the same as a regular wine glass, but these ones are plastic, so the price is a little steep. They are BPA-free and dishwasher safe, which are nice features.
- Portability: 7/10 The glasses are easy to pack if you’re packing up kitchenware for a beach house or rental and since they’re plastic, they are durable. They are a little awkward to store though, so again, I recommend purchasing the serving/storage tray.
- Cool Factor: 10/10 Everyone was asking about the glass when I was using it and wanted a chance to try it, so I’d say they were pretty cool. They come in a variety of styles and colors, so you can mix and match your set.
Final Verdict: If you’re at the beach frequently and drinking out of an open container, The Beach Glass is a fun investment. While they’re not a necessity, they’re entertaining to have around at a beach house or rental.
