Beijing Nightlife
Beijing, China, has been the capital of China for over 800 years. In that time, it has developed some pretty great nightlife options for tourists.
Wangfujing Street
This street is commonly called the “walking street” because of the fact that it becomes filled to the brim with pedestrians at night. That’s because, during this period, it is completely closed off to automobiles of any kind. It is a casual area of town filled with shops, bars, and entertainment. There are even locals performing traditional dances on the sidewalk. During the day it is basically a street for shopping at name brand stores, but there is no shortage of late-night action on Wangfujing Street.
Tiananmen Square at Night
Most visit this square during the day because of its historical significance from past student protests. The square is also a very interesting place to visit at night. The area is home to many important government buildings in China, making it a popular tourist destination for Chinese locals and tourists. It is less crowded at night and properly lit up to give visitors to the square a breathtaking experience at night. Also, for some, it is a solemn visit as they remember what has happened there in the past. The most popular day in the square is definitely National Day, which celebrates the birth of China as a nation.
Karaoke
Karaoke is practically a national past time in China. One interesting place to do it is at the karaoke hotel. In this hotel, each room has its own karaoke machine, meaning you can rent out a room and have a karaoke party with your friends. There is a smattering of other karaoke bars in the city as well. At those, you and your friends rent out a private room and sing until your heart is content.
Sanlitun Bar Street
This is the most popular area for late night action for those visiting Beijing. The area is filled with bars and lounges to suit the tastes of any visitor. It is definitely the most popular place in the city for tourists to spend their nights.
