Best Western Brings Back Its Best-Rate Guarantee

Most major hotel groups have a best-rate guarantee, promising that the rates published on their own websites will be competitive with those found on the likes of Expedia, Orbitz, and other online travel agencies.

For the past year, however, one of the largest hotel networks, Best Western, has operated without a best-rate guarantee. Considering the company’s value orientation, that’s a curious lapse. But it’s now been rectified.

Best Western has reprised its old rate guarantee, promising to issue a $100 Best Western travel card if a traveler finds a rate published elsewhere, for the same room, that’s at least $1 lower than Best Western’s. The guarantee only covers Best Western properties in North America.

Best Western will match the lower rate and issue the traveler a $100 travel card. (Only one $100 travel card may be earned during any 30-day period.)

The claim must be submitted within 24 hours of booking the hotel on the bestwestern.com website.

The guarantee does not apply to reservations booked within 48 hours of hotel arrival.
